Exploring CVI and Dual Media Literacy with Tammy Reisman, M.Ed., C.A.E.S.

Join KSSB’s CVI Think Tank to learn about a dual media approach to literacy with students who have CVI.

About the Speaker: 

Headshot of Tammy Reisman, with short light brown hair and smiling for the cameraTammy Reisman has a strong background in education of students with vision impairments, as well as highly developed writing and teaching skills. She is the program coordinator at UMass-Boston for the Teacher of Students with Vision Impairments (TVI) program in the Vision Studies program at the School for Global Inclusion and Social Development.

When not coordinating the TVI teacher preparation program, Reisman works as a teacher of students with visual impairments in the Newton Public Schools. She works with students in preschool through post-secondary, and has formed a partnership between the Newton Public Schools and UMass Boston’s Vision Studies program that provides practicum experiences for students.

Tammy ahas also partnered with Perkins School for the Blind in “ opens in a new windowA conversation with Tammy Reisman on CVI and dual media literacy“. She also has a self-paced course titled, “ opens in a new windowMaking Literacy Decisions for Children with CVI“.
