KSSB aims to lead by example in providing high quality expanded core curriculum instruction through group learning events across the state. These events are designed to bring students of similar ages and abilities together in their local regions to generalize their skills in all areas of the expanded core curriculum. Events are designed with the “collapsed expanded core” in mind, as multiple skill areas are often addressed through one activity. In addition to participation in the scheduled event, teachers who register a student will also be provided with three associated lesson plans. Two will be focused on pre-teaching skills that will be utilized at the event. The third lesson plan will support the implementation of newly learned skills into daily life at home and school. Please contact Anna Cyr with questions or to request an event in your area.
