Kansas State Board of Education

The state board oversees all operations, approves policy, provides accreditation, reviews budgets, and ensures that KSSB is providing services that are aligned with the state’s vision for all schools. The State Board acts as the board of education for the Kansas State School for the Blind. To view the work of the State Board of Education follow this link to the website.

KSSB Advisory Board

This board meets twice a year: once in the fall and once in the spring. It serves to review the school’s activities and initiatives. The board provides feedback on ways the school can promote adherence to the mission, and it provides perspectives from consumers, parents, and teachers from the field.

KC Blind All Stars Foundation

KCBAS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports the Kansas State School for the Blind. KCBAS believes in the unlimited potential of all youth in Kansas who are blind/visually impaired (B/VI). KCBAS believes youth who are B/VI can be valuable, contributing members of their schools and communities. Founded in 1973, the KCBAS Foundation provides financial support to programs and activities in the following “TEAM” endeavors: (T)echnology; (E)ducation, Employment, Entrepreneurship; (A)thletics and Extra Curricular activities; (M)usic and Arts; (S)kill-Building.
