An amazing new resource is available to teach Nemeth Code.
This new Nemeth Code Curriculum contains lesson plans, games and fun facts to teach and reinforce mathematic concepts while teaching Nemeth Code. In addition, the curriculum includes teacher scripts, data collection and pre and post tests to monitor progress.
At this time, the pre-kindergarten, Kindergarten and First Grade lessons are completed with more on the way. For middle school and high school students, there are mini lessons, such as the 5 Step Rule and a Nemeth Code searchable database. The searchable database allows students to look up a math concept and get an example of how that symbol would be written in Nemeth Code. The example can be downloaded as Simbraille or as a Brf.
This curriculum is being written by Tina Herzberg, Sara Larkin and Susan Osterhaus. As they develop instructional materials, they are uploaded to the Pearson Website and available free of charge to the users. To view the materials – go to the Nemeth Code Curriculum location on the Pearson Website.
Thank you to Tina Herzberg, Sara Larkin and Susan Ostehaus for working so diligently to provide a fun and engaging Nemeth Code Curriculum for students!!
